Engaging and Meeting the Needs of ALL Learners in the World Language Classroom

Thursday, April 23, 2020

Leslie Grahn

In their position statement entitled “Diversity and Inclusion in Language Programs,” the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) recommends that language educators “promote awareness and differentiation of language instruction to accommodate students’ diverse learning styles, exceptional learning needs, cultural, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds and personal interests and goals.” Language educators are challenged on a daily basis to meet the needs of all learners in their classrooms. This workshop will present seven key strategies for engaging all learners in the language classroom.
